APPRENTICE

is an individual who is learning a trade, art, or skill by practical experience under skilled workers in exchange for work and ongoing training.

NEW HIRE EMPLOYEES

may be in a probationary period within their first 90 days of employment, during which the employee and employer are evaluating each other.

INTERN OR WORK-STUDY

A STUDENT or GRADUATE engaged in unsupervised experiential learning in a professional setting. INTERNSHIPS are of a fixed duration, are established for the benefit of the intern, and have clearly defined objectives related to the professional goals of the intern. Intern responsibilities are not to replace work that would otherwise be done by an employee.
